“Sharon not only worked efficiently, but she made us feel relaxed and pampered” || Port Alberni Wedding

November 2, 2011

I first met Sharon a year before my wedding, and was instantly drawn to her warm, friendly personality.  I visited her again the morning of my Engagement Photo session, where Sharon not only did my makeup, but my hair as well.  I was so excited to have her professional expertise to make me look my best for my engagement photos.  A few months later, I had a trial session for my bridal makeup where we finalized the “look” for my wedding day, and it wasn’t long before that the big day arrived.  Sharon travelled from Victoria to my parents’ home on Sproat Lake, just outside of Port Alberni, where she did the makeup for me, my mother and my six bridesmaids.  Sharon’s expertise and skill was clearly evident.  She not only worked efficiently, but she made us feel relaxed and pampered.  Not only did we look absolutely gorgeous when she was done, but our makeup still looked fresh and fabulous at 10:00 p.m. that same evening!  My advice for those thinking of hiring Sharon Rai – she is an amazing makeup artist and I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs professional makeup for a special occasion.

Brides now, are doing different looks for their wedding, and reception, even changing their dresses.  For the wedding look, we are seeing beautiful makeup application with soft colors, and simply radiant skin, and with hair, an updo.  For the reception look, having dramatic makeup, with smokey eyes, or a bolder lip, and soft beautiful curls.  Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry, offers a package, where we stylize you for your wedding, and then come stylize you for your reception.  Love the idea, why not take advantage of your special day!

SR Bride, Kate Macdonald, did just that!  She incorporated two different looks for her wedding & reception!  Kate was amazing to work with, for the wedding she arrived in-studio before her ceremony at Saxe Point Park in Victoria, BC.  As it was an out-door wedding we kept her look very fresh, with pink tones, and defined eyes.  Below is Kate from her Wedding Day!

For the reception, Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry arrived on-location to her hotel room at the Hotel Grand Pacific, in Victoria BC.  The evening look, had dark smokey eyes, with simply radiant glowy skin.  Below is an image of Kate’s reception look, that was created at her Wedding Day Preview, in-studio a month prior to the wedding.

Beautiful Port Alberni, an amazing place to get married!  Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry traveled to Port Alberni, BC for Lisa Gray’s Wedding which took place on their property on Sproat Lake!  We started on-location in the morning, with the beautiful bridesmaids, the house was very entertaining, as they listened to music, sang, danced, laughed, and shared memories, a great way to spend the morning leading up to the ceremony!  The makeup theme of the bridal party was ‘Smokey Eyes with Lots of Lashes”, as the bride requested.  Hair was done by the brides talented cousin Lynsey Gray.  Lisa was lucky enough to have her Mother photograph her wedding, the talented, Erica Watson from Stirling Images Photography.  Stay tuned for more images!  Congratulations Lisa & Jamie, wishing you all the best!

The Wedding Process || Victoria Makeup Artist

The easiest choice I had to make throughout the wedding process, was to pick ‘a’ the groom, and ‘b’ my bridesmaids.   I am very excited to share every moment of my happiness on my special day with them!  Knowing them for years, having endless memories with them,  I couldn’t imagine going through my big day without them.  I can’t wait to see what they have in store for me!

My two favorite little people, will be my flower-girl and ring boy!  My niece and nephew, they mean the world to me, and Im excited to see their energy throughout the festivities!
