Reynolds High School Prom Hairstylist & Prom Makeup Artist

The Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry Team had the pleasure of being part of beautiful model, Brooke Anderson’s Grad Makeover Party for her Reynolds high-school prom in Victoria, BC at the Inn at Laurel Point.  Brooke was one of the original SR Models, three years ago, so we were honored to be the artists chosen for her Grad Party.  We arrived on-location creating unique looks for her and twelve of her girlfriends.  A great way to be pampered before a big night, with friends, family, food & refreshments, and a team of skilled artists!  The dresses were beautiful, the girls were fantastic – including the parents!  View images from the Grad Party Makeover!

Jasmin’s naturally full straight hair, was given a soft romantic curl.  Pastel toned colors were applied on the eye area, with a defined bronze liner on the upper and lower lid.  Cheeks were brushed with a pink blush cream, and lips were perfected with a soft pink.

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry stylized Jiena Chong, for a editorial photo-shoot in Victoria, BC with photographer, Jennifer Dickinson.  Below are details how each look was created, view more images of the Jiena on the Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artist Facebook Page.
A flawless base was created using a combination of cream and liquid foundations. Eyes are natural with a touch of gold shimmer on the lid with solid black mascara was applied to the eye lashes, black liquid liner was applied to top lids helping to enhance the eye shape. A final touch of warmth with a rose-tinted blusher on the cheekbone. Lips were kept a bright pink with a glaze of gloss

Illuminating foundation created a sheer, luminescent base with the cheekbones defined and brightened using golden shades. A grey toned color applied all over the eye area, with dark charcoals mixed in the outer corners smoked out.   Eyes were defined with black liner, toping off with a carbon black mascara. Lips were defined a frosted coral, adding a glossy sheen to finish.

Romance at the English Inn || Mobile Bridal Makeup & Bridal Hair

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry had the pleasure to work alongside some of Victoria’s finest in the Wedding Industry, for a romantic shoot at the English Inn, in Victoria, BC.  The theme of the shoot was love & literature inspired by Vintage & Sweets, with antique paper, soft palette of colors, and romanic vintage inspired hair & makeup.

Blush Bridal Boutique with the wedding gown, Tetrik Apparel made the beautiful headpiece which incorporated the theme, Verbena Floral Design created   fabulous floral arrangements,  including the gorgeous bridal bouquet.  The yummy treats, which we all loved, were by Pink Sugar Cupcakes.  Excited to see the images, from the talented eye of, Karen McNeil Photography.  View more images of the beautiful Terra.

Photographer Glamour Makeover || Victoria Hair & Makeup Artist

Sharon Rai Hair & Makeup Artistry had the pleasure to work with the talented, Jessie Holland from Jesse Holland Photography.  This time instead of her taking the images, she was going to be on the other side of the lens, in a photo shoot.  Jesse, doesn’t usually wear makeup, so it was exciting to make her over!

We went with strong eyes in deep forest green shades mixed with black giving a smokey effect.  Cheeks & lips were in soft pink tones, with hair teased, in soft waves.  At the end of her style session she looked like a modern day Barbie!  Read her experience on the other side of the lens!

What should we wear?  How should I do my makeup/hair?

It depends on what kind of engagement photo shoot you and your groom want. Some couples treat their engagement photo shoot like it’s for a magazine cover, and others just want to look like they do every day. You can dress as casual or formal as you like — whatever feels the most like you as a couple.

It also depends on whether or not you choose a theme for the photo shoot. If you want a 1920s vintage theme, you’ll have to pick an outfit based on that. If you’ll be taking photos on a beach, you might wear bathing suits for some of the pictures and then change into jeans and T-shirts for the rest.

Once you know what direction you’re going in, choose an outfit you feel your best in. Try to complement your shape and enhance your best features.  If you don’t normally wear makeup, you should wear some for your photo shoot.  You and your fiance don’t have to match, but you could coordinate your outfits so that the colors don’t clash.
